Peaceful Stars - poem

Peaceful Stars

When you bend your heart to hear my voice
I am now just the haunting silence of your choice

When you curl your mind around my memory
I want to be the picture that fades away beautifully

On rainy nights when your heart feels all alone
I want to be the ache that dances as the droplets moan

If tomorrow echoes sad within its absence of me
My soul will be the melody you can’t forget easily

I will grow into the limbs you can no longer climb
The branches to the sky where tears are all you find

And when tomorrow comes and you reach out to me
I will not embrace you back with loving sympathy

There may come a time when you understand
That my wings had to fly to be the magic that I am

And when your tears fall down onto a new page
I will be my own person dancing on my own stage

When the future ages all the moments that were ours
I will then be content sleeping on peaceful stars
