a much needed evening

Tonight I went out with a man that loves me unconditionally. We held hands walking through the mall. We sang songs on the radio as loud as we could stand to. He even learned and sang “Singing in the Rain” at the top of his lungs with me. He told me how cool he thought it was that I wrote a song and how he wished that he could write poetry just like I do.

He sat outside the dressing room holding my backpack while I tried on some new clothes for a Christmas party coming up where I work. He told me how pretty I looked in those “bomb ass cool” black Capri pants with the sexy zippers up the bottom of the pant legs. He said that I should get them and go to the party and feel pretty. He also said that the green sweater looked better than the purple one with my nice blue eyes.

He helped me pick out some hand lotion and some moisturizer for my hair. We both giggled at the way the stuff actually smelled like bananas and coconuts and peppermint. We both agreed that it smelled good enough to eat, but we wouldn’t.

We talked for the longest time. He even bought me some water when I said I was thirsty. He said that the bottle was something I could keep to remember he bought it for me and that’s why he got me that one. We went out for some dinner and he didn’t mind eating alone since I am dieting. I got some more water and he said he felt bad pigging out on IHOP pancakes while I sat and watched him. I assured him that it was quite ok and I was enjoying the evening with him. He gave me his water so I could have more if I wanted it.

We drove to my place. We then curled up on the couch and cuddled until he fell asleep. I think he was tired from a long day and a fun-filled evening with me. I got up and watched him sleeping for a while. His hair was just a little messy from rolling around in his sleep. His face was so serene and sweet that I couldn’t resist the urge to kneel down and kiss him on the cheek as he slept. Then the most amazing thing happened. He reached his arms around my neck and hugged me into him real close. And I heard him whisper sleepily…”I love you Mommy”.

and I love you too Bucky!
